I run pass them but i think it can be done (kill aatxes) if i change sprint and glad with somethingelse, but imo this way is faster and without risk while if u fight the aatxes the run becomes slower and if something goes wrong...

need to see some smiteage death there witte, mainly because smite killing is whole purpose of soloing uw, they the ones with the "better" drops, aatxes are more the less, "obstacles" imo, until then the rt/me can be considered the most effecient

Anyone have an idea hwo to take that last grasping?

What is your Illusion Magic set at? You should be able to run past the 2 static Aatxe's AND past the one on the stairs to the safe spot just as Dahnel did in the video. If you hug the wall and run right to the closed doors, nothing should be on you except a grasp if you agro it. I dropped my inspiration down to like a 3 since you don't need physical resistance up that long. Everything dies pretty fast. This should allow you to have Illusion up to 12 I think. Add a 20% longer enchants to your weapon and you'll be able to out run the Aatxe you're having problems with. This will also help if the doors open and you agro the 2 bulls. With 12 in Illusion, you could safely run back to the spawn point with no problems.

Are you sure the focus is at Vasburg Armory? I checked wiki and its not there on the list. Also if you could afford runes what runes would you use? Armor?

Uh..sup restoration+minor restoration+hat is really all you need. And he says he uses the +armor while holding item, but have the +energy and i can solo just fine.

I have some of his problems too, didnt think to lower inspiration and up illusion. There have been some instances where the aatxe on the stairs follows me all the way to door.

hmmm do you stop between the stairs and the doors to recast IoH ? if so that would explain it as it alows them to gain ground on you and would'nt give you enough room to outrun them ...if not are make sure you do have enough space to outrun them :P

How is this a little better? It's the exact same build except for one skill change. I would hardly call that "your" build. That is Dahnel's build and you use it the exact same as he did. Killing coldfires gives you no real advantage at all. There's no point in killing them since they drop nothing of value and are easily avoided.
Copying someone's well thought genuine build and changing one skill does not make it your build.

I tried Dahnel's build out for a good while, and while it was fun and can make it through UW, I found it a bit dependant in spawn. Every once in a while I had a spawn where a nightmare between the starting area and the first door would snare me and allow the Aatxes to crush me before I could recast IoH.
In my personal opinion, the dual run is still faster and more reliable, but I had fun trying this one out. I send my respect to Dahnel for discovering it.

What armor is everyone using for this? The OP mentions Oracle's and someone else mentioned Halcyon's. I'm about to buy 15k armor for my Rit and would like to get Halcyon's (since that is what I use when I'm not farming), so I wanted to know if the armor bonus from Oracle's is really worth it. The only benefit I can see is that you get healed for more (relatively) from VwK because the smites hit you for less. Opinions, please.

I use the energy armour for both uw and fow farming. I find the extra energy helps a great deal when holding the ashes. Correct use on phys resistance really negates the use of other armours. With the extra energy you can keep sv and av up while still being able to spam vengeful weapon. Coldfires not a problem either.
Good luck with the ecto

The Rt/Me is not the most effective..... Its down right brutal. LOL
I'm still amazed they did not nerf it in the last update.
Btw... Aatxes have the highest % chance to drop ecto not the smites But smites drop more golds then anything else.
Either way ya look at it,... its the closest anything has come to pre aoe nerf 55 UW solo farming.
It also makes for extremely fast 2 man in both UW and FoW if you choose to run with a friend.

if you watch my movie it will show that i know thats its Dahnel's Build, i improved it so if it happens that you agro coldfires during the smite run you are able to kill em and then move on. so next time if you want to burst someone bubble make sure you have all the information

LOL
1. See post above. Dahnels build is capable of killing colds.
2. You're still not getting it. You specifically stated "my build is better" and referenced "my build" several times.
Instead of trying to make it sound like "your build", next time try stating it as a varation.
"I swapped skill X for skill Z in my variation of Dahnel's build and it seems to work better for me"
That give's credit where credit is due and doesn't sound like a 13 year old posting "mine is better than yours!"

Could you please provide some factual information to back that up? If not, then it's just your observation on your runs. For me, the smites drop 85% of the ecto I have received. I don't think you can really say one or the other drops more ecto. It seems to differ for players.

This Rt/Me is the fastest build by far. There is no spawn that causes problems for this build if you understand how to use it. I've done roughly 25 straight runs with no deaths and I've talked to a few others with the same success. If that nightmare is giving you problems, equip a wand or bow and hit Illusion of Haste. Run up and aggro the aatxes/grasps (spawning the nightmare) and run back to the starting position. The nigtmare won't strip you if you turn around as soon as you hear him spawn. Once the aatxes are back in place just wand the nightmare or lure him down to you. Make sure you have Illusion of Haste on if you are going anywhere near the aaxtxes just in case.
The only advantage a dual run has is that you can kill the aatxes too, but then you have to 50/50 drops so it's more profitable to go alone.
You can whisper me in game if you want to see what I'm trying to explain. A character from each of my accounts is listed <---- in my profile under the avatar. **My Ritualist is on the European servers though. I haven't made one on my American account.
Another thing that I think makes the first room easier is to take the grasps on the right first. After you take the quest, wait for the group on the right to come down. They almost always make at least one trip down the stairs. After that, they often get stuck behind the aatxe forcing you to run to the safe spot by the closed doors to kill them. This will make it much easier for those of you getting pinched at the closed doors while fighting the grasps up there.

yea, what if you had 2 friends with you, one with ss and etc, other with holy wrath and smiting enchantments and etc, can you imagine how fast that would be added on to the damage of Vengeful?

If its time you're looking for - then sure. But my whole point of going down (as I would assume would be other's points) is to SOLO the area to get 100% of the drops and not have to split ecto's, golds, etc...
But sure, I bet there are plenty of ways to go about this faster with more people...

yea i mean of course, rather go down and solo, but it would be an interesting test to see tests in *speed* of killing other things as well if you combined 3 offensives pitting out damage
*edit*
maybe this could re-evolutionize the 3 man fow solo, if you packed spell breaker and life bond on the monk with holy wrath and etc
